Paternity

Paternity

When a child is born to an unmarried couple, paternity must be established by (1) a paternity test or (2) an admission of paternity by the assumed father. Taking steps to establish legal paternity (by either parent) is a crucial first step to being able to claim entitlements to child support for and/or parenting time with the child.

If you have questions about establishing paternity, contact Sparks Integrative Family Law to learn more about the process.
