Adoption

Adoption allows an adult to become the legal parent of someone who is not his or her biological child. Adoption creates a parent-child relationship for legal purposes, including child support obligations, inheritance rights and custody. It is important for the birth parent(s), step-parent(s), and the adoptive parent(s) to have separate legal counsel to ensure each party’s interests are fully represented.

If you are considering adoption as a birth parent or as an adoptive parent, contact Sparks Integrative Family Law to learn more about the adoption process.
