A client once described his divorce as the "hardest thing I ever had to do." At some point, many people experience this feeling when going through the process of dissolving their marriage.
While we cannot guarantee that your spouse will be reasonable or cooperative during the divorce process (also referred to as a dissolution of marriage), we can offer you a dedicated team of attorneys and support staff to help you through this difficult time. Sparks Integrative Family Law works hard every day to ensure that our clients, their families and their finances are protected both during and after a divorce.
How Much Time Will The Divorce Process Take?
The length of time it takes to obtain a dissolution of marriage is different for each client. There are many factors that may affect your divorce process:
- Do you and your spouse have minor children? If so, child custody and child support will be components of your case.
- Did you or your spouse bring money or assets into the marriage or were you or your spouse gifted or the recipients of inherited asset(s) during your marriage? If so, non-marital tracing may be a part of your case.
- Do you and your spouse own multiple real estate properties or a business? If so, a business valuation and/or appraisal may be a component of your case.
- Are you and your spouse able to cooperatively reach agreements throughout the divorce process? If so, your case may be able to be settled through mediation without going to court.
We understand that every case is different, and we work with each client's specific needs to achieve the best results possible for you and your family.
